This day trip features a customized cruise up the Savannah River.  The group will meet at Kelly Tours and take the bus to River Street where we board the Island Explorer for a 3 hour cruise.  A local historian will retrace the path of the Salzburgers and highlight the early Ebenezer Landing.  The trip will include natural and cultural history and birding through the wildlife refuge.  Views of the port of Savannah will be encountered on the cruise to and from Ebenezer Creek.  A deluxe picnic lunch is included.  Space is limited to the first 40 sign-ups.

Johnny Mercer

Born in Savannah and author to over 1,700 songs, this day trip promotes  the life of Johnny Mercer.  Take a history tour including the Mercer birthplace, Moon River and his final resting place at Bonaventure Cemetery.  After the tour we join our friends at Bryson Hall for a wonderful lunch followed by the renowned actor Jeffery Hall who brings his “Johnny Mercer” show to the party.  Hall, the star of the world-premier musical production Johnny and Me, which opened in July of 2009, delights audiences with some of Marcer’s greatest hits while shedding light on the back story of the songs and life of this awe inspiring singer/songwriter.
