Jarrell Plantation

Students will have the opportunity to visit a working South Georgia Plantation.  Learn the history of cotton, timber, the Civil War and plantation life in the 1800′s.  Also included on the tour is a visit to the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds.  These are some of the largest Indian mounds in the state of Georgia!  This day trip package includes transportation, all tours and admissions, snacks and drinks along the way and a boxed lunch.

Savannah

Established in 1733 and founded by General James Oglethorpe, Savannah is Georgia’s oldest city and boasts well preserved history around every turn.  Kelly Tours is proud to offer an opportunity for your student group to extend the classroom and visit one of the more historic cities in America!  This educational tour is not only fun and exciting, but is customized to best suit your students and their interests!

Cumberland Island

Cumberland Island is Georgia’s largest and southernmost barrier island.  Pristine maritimeforests, undeveloped beaches and wide marshes whisper the stories of both man and nature.  Come walk in the footsteps of early natives, explorers, and wealthy industrialists.  Enjoy a ferry ride to the island where a park ranger will discuss the island’s history, the plants, wildlife and marshes.  A nature walk around the island is also included for students to collect shells and sharks teeth along the beach.

St. Augustine Lighthouse

Located along the Atlantic Coast with a beautiful natural harbor, St. Augustine is “America’s Oldest City”.  Join Kelly Toursfor this day trip including a narrated sightseeing tram ride to hear the history of Spanish settlers, tabby, Castillo San Marco and Henry Flagler.  Time to visit the shops along St. George Street and enjoy lunch at the historic Columbia Restaurant.  A shopping stop on the return trip at Jacksonville’s River City Marketplace makes this a day trip not to miss!
