The King and I

This day trip to Jacksonville, FL is to the Alhambra Dinner Theatre to see the Tony Award winning musical “The King and I”. Written by Rodgers and Hammerstein, the show follows a widowed English teacher to her new posting as tutor to the Siamese king’s formidable mob of children. The collision of east and west affords its winning mixture of drama and humor, and the warm friendship that grows between the king and the teacher provides a poignant, unfulfilled romance between the two protagonists. This is a day trip to Perry, Georgia for the 21st Annual Georgia National Fair.  With its family friendly environment featuring agricultural, educational, competitive, and entertainment programs; the GA National Fair is truly one of the best in all of America.  Indulge in some traditional fair food, shop the Market Place, discover fine arts and youth exhibits, and attend livestock and horse shows.  Relax and enjoy some free entertainment including dancers, singers, and a big top circus!  A special dinner is planned at Crab House restaurant before returning home.
